Camden National Bank was founded in 1875, located in the back room of a building on the corners of Elm and Chestnut Streets, where our Main Office continues today.

1875 - Camden National Bank was established
1984 - Camden National Corporation was established
1995 - Camden National Corporation purchased United Bank, with five branches, and Trust Company of Maine, both headquartered out of Bangor
1997 - Camden National Corporation is listed on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol CAC
1998 - Camden National Bank purchased four KeyBank branches, increasing the number of branches to ten
2001 - Camden National Corporation established trust, investment and brokerage services through Acadia Trust, N.A. and Acadia

2002 - Camden National Bank was awarded the Governor's Award for Business Excellence
2006 - Camden National Bank and UnitedKingfield Bank joined together to form one Maine-based bank, under the Camden National Bank name
2006 - Camden National Corporation was designated a Best Places to Work in Maine company.
2007 - Camden National Corporation was ranked 28th in USBanker's national list of top-performing mid-tier banks.
2008 - Camden National Corporation completed it's acquisition of Union Bankshares, parent company of Union Trust Company.
2008 - Camden National Corporation (symbol CAC) began trading on the NASDAQ® Global Select Market ("NASDAQ") and was added to the Small-Cap Russell 2000® and the Russell 3000® Indexes.
2008 - Camden National Corporation was ranked 20th in USBanker's national list of top-performing mid-tier banks.
2009 - Camden National Corporation was designated a Best Places to Work in Maine company.
Branch Growth
1875 - Established Camden National Bank at the Corner of Elm and Chestnut, where the Main Office continues today
1955 - Expansion to the Main Office building in Camden
1960 - First branch location was opened in Union, on the Common
1968 - Built a new Union office, where we are still located today
1971 - Expansion to the Main Office again
1973 - Opened Rockland branch on the North end of town where the Rockland Wal-Mart is located today
1978 - Relocated the Rockland Office to its current location at Park and Union Streets
1979 - Opened the Thomaston Office in the Historic Knox Hotel
1980 - Opened the Camden Square Office, then located at Reny's Plaza on Route 1
1984 - Renovated Rockland Office
1986 - Renovated Union Office
1987 - Purchased Belfast branch from Norstar Bank
1987 - Built the Service Center at Fox Ridge Office Park in Rockport
1994 - Main Office was renovated
1998 - Purchased Bucksport, Damariscotta, Vinalhaven and Waldoboro branches from KeyBank
2000 - Opened a Business Banking Center in Portland
2002 - Opened a Business Banking Center in Kennebunk
2004 - Purchased the Spear Block in downtown Rockland, renovation plans are underway
2006 - Camden National Bank branch offices expanded to 27 locations throughout the State of Maine - from Stratton to Kennebunk!
2007 - Opened the new Rockland office at the renovated Spear block location
2008 - Camden National Bank branch offices expanded to 37 locations across Maine, with branches in 12 of Maine's 16 counties
