Charitable Giving Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in our charitable giving program at Camden National Bank. Our financial institution has a rich history of independent community banking. With 37 branch offices, we are proud to serve the financial needs of customers in coastal, downeast, western, central and eastern Maine.
As a company, we have always viewed our charitable giving as a pledge of our social responsibility. Whether through the in-kind donation of volunteer time or direct financial support, our giving is based on the belief that our vitality as a commercial bank depends on the well-being of the towns where we live and work. To accomplish this, we consider those areas in which we believe the most critical needs exist and where the Company's resources can have the most favorable impact on the communities we serve. As such, our giving is focused in four key areas.
Areas of Corporate Giving
Economic Development - At Camden National Bank, we believe that investing in our communities has significant impact. We look to support those endeavors that promote economic vitality within our markets. These activities include local and regional events that are focused on stimulating and sustaining the business market place and emphasize the revitalization of downtown and business districts. In addition, we support education-related activities that assist in fostering a business knowledge base for youth as well as for the existing workforce.
Community Services - Camden National Bank primarily supports community services through its partnership with organizations such as United Mid-Coast Charities, United Way and affordable housing and home buying programs in the communities we serve. We offer help to organizations through employee volunteer efforts and direct corporate contributions.
Opportunities for Youth - We believe that creating empowering opportunities for our youth will help ensure continuation of the quality of life we value in Maine. We routinely look to support activities and initiatives that provide resources for the education of Maine children. We offer the time and talents of our employees for training and financial literacy. We sponsor athletic programs that promote teamwork and pride for Maine youth. We also support alternative schooling and job creation programs.
Cultural Enrichment - We recognize the important contribution that the arts and cultural programs make to our communities. In support of the creative economy, we sponsor local organizations and events that promote enrichment, diversity and social well-being. Our culture and arts funding is limited to the communities in our markets.
