Winfield Robinson is Named to the Camden National Bank Board of Directors. - 2/7/2006

Camden, Maine, February 7, 2006 - Rendle A. Jones, Esq., Chairman of the Board of Directors for Camden National Corporation (AMEX: CAC; the "Company"), announced that Winfield F. Robinson, of Kingfield, Maine, has been named to the board of directors of Camden National Bank, effective immediately.

Mr. Jones also announced that as a result of the combination of Camden National Bank and UnitedKingfield Bank, Mr. Robinson has been named Chairman-designee of Camden National Bank, and will become chairman at the time of the merger of the two banks. Mr. Jones will remain a director of Camden National Bank as well as continue as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Camden National Corporation.

"Win has been a very valuable member of the Camden National Corporation and UnitedKingfield boards of directors," Mr. Jones said. "Having a person the caliber of Win as chairman of Camden National Bank is an exciting opportunity."

Mr. Robinson commented, "I have a high regard for the dedication and service that the whole Camden National family of companies delivers to its customers and its communities. I am looking forward to working with both the board of directors and management of Camden National Bank to ensure our 130-year history of Maine-based community banking continues. I am confident that the personal service and relationships that customers of UnitedKingfield Bank have enjoyed for so many years will be maintained in the same spirit and with the same people."

Mr. Robinson also served as a Director of Kingfield Bank ("Kingfield") since 1976 and was elected Chairman of the Board in 1986. Concurrent with Kingfield's merger with United Bank in February 2000, Mr. Robinson became Chairman and a Director of the newly formed UnitedKingfield Bank. Mr. Robinson was president of Timber Resource Group LLC, a forest products firm located in Farmington, Maine, from 1998 until 2002.

A longtime resident of Kingfield, Mr. Robinson has a history of involvement in the Forest Products industry and in town affairs, having served on his town's budget committee and as a member of the school board for School Administrative District (SAD) #58 for many years.
