Camden National Honors Employees with 2008 Awards - 5/9/2008

CAMDEN, Maine - Gathered over two nights with more than 600 employees and their guests, Camden National Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Robert W. Daigle presented awards to employees at Camden National's annual Employee Appreciation Night at the Samoset in Rockport. Award recipients for 2008 included Jennifer Lombardo, Kristin Lawson, Adele Berzinis, Dolores Hyssong, Andrew Somes, Nicole Look, Suzanne Cifaldo, Jessica Barbour, Dyan Macomber, Alli Young, Beth Jewell, and Sonia Theberge.

"Our Company's tradition of celebrating the exceptional work of our employees continues to grow," noted Daigle. "This year, in recognition of the recent merger with Union Trust, we have two winners in some categories to honor the accomplishments of former Union Trust Company employees during 2007 as well as Camden National employees. Whether they have been with the Company for a short time or for decades, all of the award recipients have distinguished themselves by demonstrating a special commitment over the past 12 months."

Receiving the highest distinction as well as nominations in numerous categories, two were honored as Employees of the Year: Jennifer Lombardo and Kristin Lawson. Assistant manager of Collections at the Company's Hanley Center, Jennifer Lombardo works closely with her team to assist with the servicing of customer accounts. Jen is active in the Company's Community Spirit of Giving and Coastmasters programs and developed a soft innovation check-by-phone initiative as a payment enhancement. Branch manager for the Waldoboro location, Kristin Lawson provides leadership to her branch team and customers. Volunteering more than 100 hours of her personal time in community activities, Kristin encourages her team to get involved in community service to help make a difference.

The Commitment to the Customer Award recognizes Adele Berzinis and Dolores Hyssong, employees who consistently strive to exceed the customer's expectations. As a senior customer sales and service consultant for the Main Street, Ellsworth office, Adele Berzinis consistently provides optimum customer service. She has been known to personally deliver paperwork to a customer for their signature and is very knowledgeable about the bank's products, ensuring customers have the products that fit their needs. A 30-year veteran at Camden National, Dolores Hyssong's knowledge of the community, the customer base in the Camden market, and the bank's products and services is second to none. Dolores has held numerous positions in her long tenure at Camden National Bank including retail activities, branch operations, commercial lending and commercial portfolio management. Every customer who walks through the doors of the Camden Square office knows Dolores and will seek her out her assistance.

Recognizing the employees who work diligently to meet the needs of his or her co-workers, the Commitment to the Customer Award for Internal Service was presented to Andrew Somes and Nicole Look. As a float teller for the down east region, Andrew Somes embraces the diversity of his job by sharing his outstanding customer service skills and operational expertise wherever extra help is needed. With his mild manner and positive attitude he is always welcomed in any branch he visits. Nicole Look, deposit services team leader at the Hanley Center, is methodical in her approach to problem solving, extremely adept at managing many processes at one time, and dedicated to providing assistance whenever needed. She contributes to the Hanley Center culture as a member of the event planning committee to enhance Company pride.

In recognition of their exceptional service to their fellow employees, Suzanne Cifaldo and Jessica Simmons Barbour each received the Commitment to the Employee Award. With experience as a teller, vault teller, customer service representative, branch supervisor and assistant branch manager, Suzanne Cifaldo possesses a vast array of knowledge to effectively support employees throughout the Company. This extensive in-branch background, along with her knowledge and expertise with systems, products, and policies, allows her to bring a fresh insight to her role as assistant operations and security manager for Camden National's Branch Administration. A teller with the Waldoboro branch, Jessica Simmons Barbour demonstrates outstanding teamwork skills in welcoming new co-workers or customers. Jessica always tries to find positive ways to continually improve processes to provide more efficient service.

Assistant branch manager in Camden National's Farmington branch, Dyan Macomber was recognized with the Commitment to the Community Award. Presented to an individual who passionately and consistently contributes to the social well being of the community served, this award reflects Dyan's efforts to help enhance economic growth, cultural awareness, and civic pride for the greater Farmington area. Dyan co-chairs Farmington Rotary committees and participates in events including the Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, the Festival of Trees, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the "Make Tracks for Kids Walk-a-thon", the Hope Harvest Community Garden, Farmington's Fourth of July Parade and the Chester Greenwood Parade. Her enthusiasm provides inspiration for those around her.

Alli Young was honored with the Commitment to the Shareholder Award. As electronic banking manager, Alli has responsibility for all Debit/ATM Card, Internet, ACH and Wire services for the bank and consistently delivers accurate, detailed, and timely results in a fast-paced environment. Her leadership and commitment to excellence, however, go beyond the department she manages. Of significance is her commitment to soft innovation and continuous improvement with an eye to managing expenses - Alli is one of only five repeat Free Prize champions in the Company. Alli serves as a co-chair of Camden National's Community Spirit of Giving, an employee-run community outreach effort that sponsors fundraising events throughout the year to raise money to provide children with warm clothing, presents, and a food basket each December.

Presented with the Commitment to Core Values Award, Beth Jewell and Sonia Theberge were honored for their dedication to and practice of the Company's guiding Core Values. As branch manager for one of the bank's largest branches, the Main Street, Ellsworth location, Beth Jewell is a team player who encourages and empowers her staff with high standards of excellence and holds them accountable for their goals. A commercial loan assistant serving greater Androscoggin County from the bank's Lewiston branch, Sonia Theberge regularly displays integrity and honesty, trust, service, responsibility, and excellence in all that she does to serve as a role model for the Company's work ethic and commitment to service.
