Camden National Corporation Names Lawrence Sterrs as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors

Camden, Maine - January 10, 2017 – The board of directors of Camden National Corporation (NASDAQ®: CAC; “Company” or “Camden National”) announced that Lawrence (Larry) J. Sterrs has been named Vice Chair of the board of directors. Sterrs was elected to the Company’s board of directors in January 2015 and serves as a member of both the Compensation and Technology committees. He also recently became a member and Vice Chair of the board of directors for Camden National Bank, the Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary.

Stanley, Chair of the board of directors of the Company and Camden National Bank. “His valuable contributions continue to be appreciated as we welcome Larry to his new role as Vice Chair of the board of directors for both the Company and Camden National Bank.”

Larry Sterrs has served as Chair of the board of directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Unity Foundation since 2001, which invests in building the capacity of nonprofits that serve both local Maine communities and statewide needs. Sterrs also currently serves as Chair of the board of directors of UniTek, Inc. and its telecom subsidiary, UniTel, Inc., a company bringing high speed internet and phone services to a number of Maine communities. He formerly served as the Chief Executive Officer of each company. Sterrs began his career working with ConTel Corporation across the Northeast where he had executive management responsibility in network design and planning, and held various operation, legislative and regulatory positions in project management, management training and operations management. From 1991 to 1994, Sterrs worked at Berry Dunn McNeil and Parker, LLC as manager of telecommunication consulting. He has also served as the Vice Chair of the Maine Telecommunications Infrastructure Steering Committee and a variety of other telecommunication steering committees. Sterrs currently serves as a board member of the Telecommunications Association of Maine.
