Camden, Maine, May 24, 2012 – Gregory A. Dufour, president and chief executive officer of Camden National Bank, is pleased to announce that Danny Swindler has been named senior vice president of retail administration and operations for Camden National Bank. Swindler is based in the Main Office in Camden, and will oversee all branch operations, product development, delivery channels and facilities and purchasing for Camden National, as well as the bank’s call center. He will report to June Parent, executive vice president, Retail Banking.
“I enjoy the challenge of providing our products, services and state-of-the-art technology through the multitude of delivery channels in the ever-changing financial services industry—it’s challenging, but rewarding,” said Swindler. “It doesn’t get much more rewarding than striking that delicate balance of working for Maine’s premier community bank while raising a family in the comforts of Maine.”
Swindler began his career with Camden National in 1996 as a summer teller while attending Thomas College, where he studied accounting and minored in finance and economics. Upon graduation in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Swindler joined Camden National full-time as a management trainee in the finance department. During this time he continued his education at Thomas College and earned a master’s in business administration. From 1999 to 2005 Swindler worked as part of the management team in operations, overseeing project management, item processing, facilities and purchasing. From 2005 to 2011, he oversaw branch operations and security for the bank.
“Since joining Camden National as a summer teller, Danny has demonstrated his dedication to excellence and has worked his way up through several departments and positions,” said Dufour. “His experience gives him a unique understanding of how our organization works, and his commitment to the growth and success of the bank is apparent in all that he does. His promotion to senior vice president is well-deserved.”
Swindler’s dedication to his work has been recognized throughout his career; he received Camden National’s “Commitment to Core Values” award in 2007 and was named Officer of the Year in 2011. Swindler currently lives in Warren, Maine, where he serves on the Warren Scholarship Committee. He lives with his wife and their three children.
“Danny has excellent project management skills that he has developed by consistently applying the skills he’s gained from his past experiences in a variety of operational roles,” said June Parent, executive vice president of retail banking for Camden National Bank. “He is committed to ensuring that we continue to provide a remarkable customer experience, and we are proud to have him on the Camden National team.”
