Q. What Camden National Bank deposit products are available to open online?
A. Simple Promise, Promise Rewards, Promise Premier, Promise Savings and CDs.
Q. What information do I need to provide in order to open a Camden National account online?
A. You should have the following information available when you begin the online account application process:
  • Your Social Security number
  • A valid driver's license, military ID, passport, Permanent Resident Card or state ID
  • Information for funding your new account (such as a credit card, debit card or bank routing and account numbers)
Q. How long will it take to complete my application online?
A. It should take five to ten minutes to complete your application online.
Q. Will I automatically be enrolled in Online Banking if I open my account online?

A. If you select Online Banking with your deposit account, we will enroll you in Online Banking. The email address you provide during the application process will be your initial Login ID. Within three to five days of your account being opened and funded, you will receive an email from us, containing first time login instructions.

If you are already a Camden National Online Banking customer and you request Online Banking for your new account as well, we will add your new account to your existing Online Banking Login ID.

Q. Will I automatically be enrolled in eStatements if I open my account online?
A. No, we are not able to automatically enroll you in eStatements at this time. However, please note that if you are opening an eChecking account, you must enroll in eStatements through your Online Banking account in order to avoid a $5 monthly service charge, if applicable.
Q. Can I open an account with a co-applicant online?
A. Yes.
Q. Is the process for opening an account online different if I already have an account with Camden National?

A. You have the option to access the application differently if you are an existing customer, but the application process will otherwise be the same.

If you are an existing customer, you can access online account opening from the Camden National website or:

  • Log in to your Camden National Online Banking account
  • Navigate to Accounts>Online Account Opening in the left navigational menu of the Account Overview screen

This will take you to our Online Application Center, where you can opt to open a new account.

Q. Can I open an account using Mobile Banking?
A. No, our online account opening site is not currently designed to be accessed from a mobile device.
Q. Can I open more than one Camden National account at the same time?
A. Yes.
Q. Can I open an account for my minor child(ren) online?
A. No, not at this time. Please stop by your local branch, call our Customer Assistance Center at 800.860.8821 or email us for help with this.
Q. Can I apply online for a Camden National deposit account if I do not live in Maine?
A. If you are an existing customer, yes. Please log in to online account opening through your Online Banking account. Online applications from new customers, however, will only be accepted from certain states. Customers will be asked for their ZIP code when they begin the application process, to determine whether we have products available in their area.
Q. What is the minimum deposit needed to open a Camden National account online?
A. The minimum deposit to open a Camden National account online is $25 for a checking or savings account and $500 for a CD.
Q. What is the maximum deposit allowed when opening a Camden National Bank account online?
A. The maximum deposit to open a Camden National account online is $5,000 for a checking or savings account and $10,000 for a CD.
Q. How do I make my opening deposit?
A. You will have the option to fund your new account via credit card, debit card, internal transfer from another Camden National account or electronic transfer from another financial institution.
Q. When will funds be available for use in my new account?
A. Funds availability depends on the funding method that you select:
  • Credit card, debit card or internal transfer — one to three business days
  • Electronic transfer from another financial institution (ACH) — varies, depending on how long it takes for the customer to complete the microdeposit process
Q. What is the microdeposit process?
A. Microdeposit is a process in which we make two small deposits into the bank account you choose to fund your new account from, and you then verify the amounts of the two small deposits with us. These deposits normally take two to three business days before they appear in your account, and we will not fund your new account until you are able to correctly verify the amounts of the deposits.
Q. What are my options if I am unable to finish my application online in one session?
A. You will be able to save the application and log back in to finish it later. The Customer Assistance Center can also assist you with an unfinished application and can be reached at 800.860.8821 or by email.

Q. Is my online account application secure?
A. Yes, your online account application is secure. We use encryption technology consistent with industry standards.
Q. If I marked that I wanted a debit card with my new account, how will I receive my new card?
A. Once your account is open and funded, your new debit card will arrive by mail within five to seven business days.
Q. If I marked that I wanted checks with my new account, how will I receive my first order?
A. Once your account is open and funded, you will receive a starter pack of checks by mail within seven to 10 business days. When you are ready to order checks, please use the account number on the starter pack and order from www.ordermychecks.com.
Q. How will I know my bank routing number and account number?
A. Camden National's routing number is 011201458. Your account number will be available in documents provided for you to review and print once your application has been successful. If your application is not approved right away, you will receive an email from our Customer Assistance Center within three business days, confirming the status of your application and, if applicable, explaining how to review your account details.
Q. Will I be able to access Telephone Banking?
A. Once your account is open and funded, you can access Telephone Banking by calling 800.887.7874.
